Health Benefits

Have you ever had unexplained headaches or fallen sick when you're under constant stress. This signals a direct relationship between stress and immunity.

When we’re stressed, all the body's energy is directed towards fighting the stressor, putting a pause on other functions like digestion, immunity and metabolism. Over time when we're under constant stress, the immune system’s ability to fight off external threats is reduced. This makes us more susceptible to infections.

Spices have always held the key to Indian immunity. Natural‐derived compounds constantly become a worthy therapeutic alternative against several diseases, including viral infections, because they are innately better tolerated in the human body. Spices contain many bioactive compounds that build us from within. Rooibos is a caffeine-free, naturally sweet herb that contains Aspalathin, a plant compound that helps to reduce stress. In addition, Rooibos is full of glutathione, a powerful compound that naturally detoxifies the body and regains internal balance. Cloves have anti-stress properties that make you feel relaxed and calm. They are rich in antioxidants to protect your cells against free radicals. Eugenol, found in cloves, is very helpful in reducing oxidative stress. Powerful Cinnamon, healing Star Anise and immunity-building Cardamom, combined with the fruity goodness of Apples, each sip is power-packed and helps you keep your allergies & illness at bay.

Why this format?

As Indians, our days are incomplete without tea! It's the second most popular drink in the world, after water. For centuries now, sitting down with a cup of tea and sipping it slowly has been known to clear our minds.

At Ausum, we make functional teas that play a much bigger role in your healthy diet and help you go stress-free. While the format looks like tea because it's already a part of our daily lifestyle, these beverages provide essential plant-based nutrients needed to support your lifestyle. These infusions provide the comfort we seek when we feel stressed after working long hours and feel the urge to sip on a beverage.

Sip on, stress off. It’s that simple.

Teabag with a Tale

Two of the most popular materials used to create tea bags are nylon and paper.

In hot water, Nylon teabag releases 11.6 bn microplastics that are not meant for human consumption (Source: BBC) and takes an average of 30 to 40 years to decompose. (Source: The Hindu, 2022)

Paper teabags are treated with Epichlorohydrin, a chemical that’s also commonly used as a pesticide. Just like synthetics, they release toxins when dunked in boiling water.

Made with non-plastic, plant-based corn starch, Ausum teabags steep ZERO microplastics in your tea. These plant-based bags are 100% biodegradable and decompose within 3-6 months, without a trace! So sip on and breathe easy.

Brewing Instructions

- Fill your cup with 200- 250 ml of hot water.
- Add teabag and steep for 3-4 minutes.
- Enjoy at any time of the day.

Functional teas are a great way to get some mindful minutes. Take a break from your desk, walk to the kitchen, turn on the kettle and give yourself a 2 min break while you wait to make your brew. Functional teas are calming and soothing, primarily due to their ingredients, but the physical warmth provided by the hot beverage has an emotional appeal. As the colours unfurl into your cup and the gentle aroma of natural ingredients tickle your senses, stress starts to fade away.
